(Photo by Timothy Hughes)Coffee shops scare me crapless. My fear of facing the snide condescension of a bunch of Camus-reading, beret-wearing, rolled cigarette-smoking caffeine addicts drives me to settle for dishwater-flavored coffee from the trusty gas station.
However, having a cup of coffee with J.J. Kilmer, the friendly founder and owner of Indie Coffee on Regent St (directions), has made me rethink my prejudices. In fact, Indie is one of the few coffee shops that doesn't require me to sneak in my own bottle of whiskey, since J.J. will put a shot in your cup for you!
